The DIY Critical Shot target system is a rugged, multi-stage reactive setup designed to help law enforcement officers and shooting enthusiasts refine their tactical shooting skills. Built from ballistic-grade AR500 steel, this durable system is engineered to handle repeated impacts and demanding training environments. Ideal for hands-on users, the DIY version includes all necessary components except the 46” angle iron shaft (1.5″ x 0.25″), which must be sourced separately. Targets are shipped unpainted and require welding for final assembly. Kits are available with or without Spartan Armor Systems’ patent-pending Multi-Purpose Base (MPB), and optional accessories like .22LR paddles and challenge tree paddles can be added for greater versatility. For best results, we recommend using 1.5″ x 0.25″ angle iron and adding the MPB for a stable, easy setup. Pre-built kits are also offered and ship in two packages—one containing the targets and optional base, and the other with the angle iron and pre-welded pivot tubes. Choose the version that fits your training goals and assembly preferences.
